Purported nonhuman bodies displayed at a Mexican congressional event
Chamber of Deputies, Mexico City
Witness account
At a public event in Mexico's Chamber of Deputies, Jaime Maussan displayed two small bodies claimed to be nonhuman and ancient, allegedly originating in Peru. The venue made the presentation newsworthy but did not constitute an official Mexican finding of extraterrestrial life. Assertions about laboratory testing and specimen provenance require particular care because several different bodies and samples have appeared in related claims.
Public record
UNAM reiterated that its laboratory had performed radiocarbon dating on client-supplied samples in 2017, not authenticated their origin or species. Reuters subsequently reported Maussan's acknowledgment that cited tests concerned another specimen, called Victoria, rather than the two bodies displayed at the September event.
