Aguadilla infrared video
Rafael Hernández Airport, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico
Witness account
A Customs and Border Protection aircraft recorded an infrared sequence near Aguadilla airport. The video was widely interpreted as showing a fast object splitting in two and passing into or through water. The Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies published its initial detailed report in August 2015 and argued that the sequence showed unusual behaviour. The recording date, report publication and later official assessment must remain separate.
Public record
The infrared footage is genuine government imagery. AARO's November 19, 2024 public explanation, distributed with the video through DVIDS, describes a reconstruction using the aircraft's flight path and camera viewing angle. It finds two objects travelling together near wind speed on a straight path over land.
