Major UK Ministry of Defence UFO-file releases

The Ministry of Defence began transferring a large body of its remaining UFO files for public release through the National Archives in 2008. Successive tranches continued through 2013. These releases contained sighting reports, correspondence, policy discussion and administrative records. A file's release date is therefore different from both the date of a reported sighting and the date a government employee recorded or evaluated it.
Public record
National Archives guides document the programme and explain the provenance of the records. The June 2013 release was described as the tenth and final tranche of that programme, comprising twenty-five files. This should not be expanded into a claim that every UK intelligence or defence record bearing on UFOs had become public.
