The Roswell Report: Case Closed

Washington, D.C.; New Mexico test and incident records

Witness account

The U.S. Air Force publicly presented The Roswell Report: Case Closed on 24 June 1997. It addressed accounts of bodies and related recovery activity associated retrospectively with Roswell, extending the earlier study of the debris. The report proposed that some stories combined memories of anthropomorphic dummy drops, military accidents and other events.

Public record

Its evidence and proposed correspondences are set out in the official volume, while contemporary broadcast reporting establishes the public presentation. A critical chronological point is that the cited dummy programs occurred in the 1950s, after the 1947 Roswell incident. The explanation therefore invokes mistaken dates or conflated memories, not dummies literally dropped at the 1947 crash site.
