Alien Autopsy and the later reconstruction admission

Witness account

Film promoted by Ray Santilli as a record of an alien autopsy became a media sensation in 1995, including Fox’s television special on 28 August. Its purported connection to a 1947 recovery tied it to the expanding Roswell narrative. Contemporary coverage included both confident claims of authenticity and objections about restricted access to original film and inadequate provenance.

Public record

In 2006, Santilli acknowledged that the circulated material was a reconstruction while continuing to claim an earlier genuine film had existed. Special-effects artist John Humphreys described making the figure and participating in the staged production. These later disclosures must be attached to the 1995 claim, not omitted from a historical account.
