Meng Zhaoguo and the Phoenix Mountain narrative

Witness account

Forestry worker Meng Zhaoguo described a sequence beginning in 1994 with an unusual object near Phoenix Mountain in Heilongjiang, followed by a bedroom encounter with a tall female being and later alleged visits aboard a craft. The story attracted Chinese UFO organizations and became one of the country’s best-known contact claims.

Chinese-focused reporting traces the account to local magazines and investigator visits. China Daily reported in December 2003 that hypnosis and a polygraph had been arranged that September. Such later tests, and claims about scars, equipment behavior or predicted events, are distinct from independent evidence recorded before or during the encounter.
