Witness account

Kelly Cahill described lights on an outward journey during the evening of 7 August 1993 and a more intense encounter on the return trip in the early hours of 8 August. Her account included figures near an object, fragmented recollection and subsequent physical concerns. She contacted investigator Bill Chalker on 4 October; other alleged witnesses became part of the investigation.

Public record

Chalker’s original 1994 report explicitly says that Cahill’s core recollections were not produced by hypnosis: a later session added nothing significant. His subsequent correction also says that an anticipated comprehensive investigation report was never released, preventing independent verification of claims about other witnesses and traces. ABC revisited this access problem in 2020.
