Researchers and clinicians met at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 13 to 17 June 1992 to discuss reported alien abductions. John Mack and David Pritchard were central organizers. The invitation-only event brought together different perspectives on experiencer accounts, possible evidence and investigative approaches; its proceedings were published as Alien Discussions in 1994.
Public record
Participant records establish the conference dates, while a university library catalog independently fixes the proceedings’ publication year. These are two separate milestones. The meeting’s location and the academic positions of participants do not mean that MIT or Harvard endorsed the reality of extraterrestrial abductions.
