Linda Napolitano, or Linda Cortile, and the Brooklyn Bridge narrative
Lower Manhattan, New York City
Witness account
Linda Napolitano told Budd Hopkins that she had been taken from her Manhattan apartment during the early hours of 30 November 1989. Published under the pseudonym Linda Cortile, the story later included alleged witnesses who saw her floating toward a craft, security personnel and a prominent international figure. Hopkins developed the account in articles and the 1996 book Witnessed.
Public record
Contemporaneous critical investigators documented that Napolitano had contacted Hopkins before the alleged November event and that important corroborating stories emerged later. Their examination questioned witness verification and the investigator’s handling of evidence. Bibliographic records distinguish the 1996 original book from later editions sometimes cited as 1997 or 1999.
