Witness account
Residents of Dalnegorsk reportedly saw a luminous reddish object descend toward the hill known as Height 611 on 29 January 1986. Investigator Valery Dvuzhilny later described searches and recovered fragments, and the episode became widely presented as a Soviet UFO crash. International reporting by 1990 shows that the account predates recent online compilations.
