Budd Hopkins: Missing Time and Intruders

New York publication; U.S. case investigations

Witness account

Budd Hopkins’s Missing Time helped make unaccounted-for intervals and hypnotically recovered experiences central to the emerging abduction literature. Its original publication year is 1981, although some later references give 1982 for subsequent editions. Intruders, published in 1987, developed an account centered on the pseudonymous Kathie Davis and alleged repeated encounters in Indiana, including reproductive themes.

Public record

Library and publisher records establish the books and their dates; a contemporary Publishers Weekly review documents how Intruders was presented to readers. These publications are evidence for the development and circulation of the abduction narrative, while the experiences within them require individual case histories and independent corroboration.
