The Cash–Landrum encounter and injury claims
Near Dayton/Huffman, Texas

Witness account
Betty Cash, Vickie Landrum and Vickie’s grandson Colby reported encountering a brilliant, heat-emitting object while driving in the Houston region. They described numerous helicopters and later attributed illness, including severe symptoms reported by Cash, to the encounter. This is a reported roadside exposure case rather than an original allegation of being taken aboard a craft.
Public record
Accounts include witness interviews, a recorded 1981 discussion with Air Force personnel, medical-treatment claims and a later damages lawsuit. Contemporary 1985 reporting identifies an already-filed twenty-million-dollar action against the federal government. The allegation of radiation exposure and military helicopter involvement was disputed; no verified identification of the object or responsible military operation emerged.
