Manises: an airliner diverts after crew reports of unusual lights
Spanish airspace and Valencia–Manises airport

Witness account
A TAE Super Caravelle diverted to Valencia–Manises after its crew reported unusual red lights. A military fighter response followed. The diversion is a concrete aviation event, while claims about the lights’ origin, distance and maneuvering depend on the particular witnesses and instruments involved. Later versions often merge separate airliner and fighter observations into one continuous pursuit.
Public record
Contemporary El País reports preserve the initial publicity and crew statements. Spain’s defense library holds files covering 11 November and related reports on 17 and 28 November; a file spanning several dates should not be mistaken for corroboration that all observations involved one object. The archive also includes later assessment and declassification material.
