Witness account

Teenager Ronald Johnson said a luminous object hovered near the family property and left a glowing ring. Family members subsequently inspected the ring. The narrative includes effects on people and animals, while later versions add further personal experiences. Each element needs its own source rather than being treated as a single contemporaneously verified package.

Public record

Photographs, police attention, newspaper reporting and soil examinations give the trace a documented history. Salina Public Library identifies the original newspaper sequence and later coverage. Reports of water-repellent soil and unusual material are features requiring environmental controls and sample provenance; identifying an unusual sample does not itself identify how it formed or establish a connection to a spacecraft.
