Falcon Lake: Stefan Michalak’s reported encounter and documented injuries
Whiteshell Provincial Park, near Falcon Lake, Manitoba

Witness account
Prospector Stefan Michalak reported two unusual objects, one of which landed on a rock outcrop. He said he approached, heard sounds and touched the surface before hot exhaust or another emission burned him. He initially considered it an experimental terrestrial vehicle. The characteristic grid-like marks on his torso later became central to the case’s reputation.
Public record
Medical observations, photographs, police interviews, site examinations and radiation-related material make this more than an unrecorded anecdote. Library and Archives Canada’s source-based podcast also identifies disagreements between Michalak’s narrative and a constable’s account. Later radioactive silver fragments and soil samples must be dated separately from the initial injury; specimen provenance and site access affect what they can demonstrate.
