Witness account

Pupils and a teacher described silvery aerial objects near Westall schools and the scrubland known as The Grange. Descriptions included a disc-like appearance, changes in apparent thickness and nearby light aircraft. Accounts of landing, number of objects and the sequence of observations vary and should be preserved rather than harmonized into a single detailed flight path.

Public record

State Library Victoria reproduces contemporary local newspaper material and identifies the June 1966 Australian Flying Saucer Review account. Teacher Andrew Greenwood was quoted in the 21 April Dandenong Journal. The Age’s early coverage proposed a weather balloon released from Laverton. These sources establish that the story was reported at the time, decades before the modern reunion interviews and documentary.
