Lonnie Zamora’s Socorro encounter

Witness account

Police officer Lonnie Zamora said he investigated a noise and flame, saw an egg-shaped object near the ground and noticed two small figures nearby. He then reported the object taking off. Other officers and investigators examined the location soon afterward, documenting disturbed ground and vegetation that became central to the case.

Contemporary police communications, Zamora’s statements and an FBI investigation provide a firm documentary basis. The FBI file distinguishes what Zamora said he saw from what responding personnel themselves observed at the site.
