Levelland and nearby roads, Texas

Witness account
Motorists reported bright objects or lights near roads around Levelland, several associating them with engines stopping or headlights failing. Police received a sequence of calls, and an Air Force investigator examined the reports. The case became influential in discussion of possible electromagnetic effects on vehicles.
Public record
The Blue Book file includes reports, interviews and the official assessment. The number of reports, number of people and number of independently documented vehicle failures are different quantities and should not be compressed into one impressive witness count.
