Rosa Lotti Dainelli’s Cennina encounter

Witness account

Walking toward religious observances early on All Saints’ Day, Dainelli said she encountered a strange upright vehicle and two small figures. She described their examining or taking carnations and a stocking before she fled. The story was reported the following day, so its presence in a 1972 investigation should not be mistaken for an eighteen-year delay before anybody heard it.

Public record

Sergio Conti’s later investigation reproduces contemporary newspaper passages and compares early versions with interviews conducted many years afterward. Additional people said to have observed parts of the episode were identified or interviewed retrospectively.
