Marius Dewilde’s encounter at the railway tracks
Quarouble, Nord

Witness account
Dewilde said that barking drew him outside his home beside railway tracks. He described a dark object on the line, two small figures and a light that left him unable to move before the object departed. His account became a prominent part of the French autumn 1954 wave, in which numerous landing and occupant stories circulated through the press.
Public record
Contemporary newspaper coverage records official interest and descriptions of marks near the tracks. The later narrative was expanded and interpreted by investigators and writers, including people who considered the case strong evidence of visiting beings.
