The Lubbock Lights
Lubbock, Texas
Witness account
College observers reported formations of bluish-green lights moving rapidly across the night sky. In a later observation, student Carl Hart photographed a V-like formation of bright points. Numerous reports were grouped under the Lubbock Lights label, making it easy for later accounts to merge distinct witnesses and evenings into one event.
Public record
Witness interviews and Hart’s photographs form the evidence. Accounts differ between 30 and 31 August for the photographic night, while the opening professors’ sighting is dated 25 August.
