17 June 1950 (claimed); public report July 1952 / T048
Oskar and Gabriele Linke’s Haselbach encounter
Near Haselbach and Gleimershausen, southern Thuringia

Witness account
Oskar Linke said that, while traveling with Gabriele after a motorcycle breakdown, he approached what first looked like animals and saw two figures beside an unusual structure. He described the structure becoming a luminous disc and departing. He initially considered a secret Russian machine. The account reached international newspapers after the family had moved to West Berlin.
Public record
A 1952 newspaper interview explicitly dates the alleged event to 17 June 1950. Bloecher’s later dossier traces the July 1952 notarization and Davidson’s 1958–1959 correspondence, but lacked a copy of the original deposition. Gabriele, identified in a 2014 interview as Linke’s stepdaughter, described observing the departure from the road.
